On Saturday, March 2, 2024, the stock market will be open. Yes, you heard it right, trading will also take place in the share market on Saturday. The National Stock Exchange will conduct a special live trading session on March 2. In this, work during intraday will be taken to the disaster recovery site. This trading session will be in both the equity and equity derivatives segments. This session is being organized to strengthen trading in the event of any unexpected situation. Prior to this, for the first time in history, the market was open on Saturday, January 20, and special live trading was conducted on BSE and NSE, which lasted the entire day.

NSE Circular Issued

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) stated in its circular on February 14, 'Members are informed that the exchange will conduct a special live trading session with intraday switch from the primary site to the disaster recovery site on Saturday, March 2.' Trading will take place in both the cash and F&O segments on Saturday, March 2. This is being done by the exchange under the Business Continuity Plan framework.

Market Opening Time on Saturday

Trading on Saturday will take place in two sessions. The first session will start at 9:15 AM and end at 10:00 AM. Trading during this time will be on the primary website. Meanwhile, the second session will start at 11:30 AM and continue until 12:30 PM.

For all types of securities, price bands, i.e., upper circuit 5 and lower circuit 2, will be maintained. Settlement for purchases made in the equity market on March 1 will be done on Monday, March 4, due to settlement holiday on Saturday, March 2.
